Paintin'

My painting professor is a wacky wacky man. I suppose he thinks he is being helpful but he comes around while we are painting and then rants about different unrelated topics. He told one girl about the time he was commissioned to paint 50 tropical fish. He told me that "painting, like doing laundry, is a privilege". One time he went off about a Fiat he rented in France. He recently rented us a one armed nude model for us "interpret".  She's a very serious lady with a furrowed brow and puckered nub.

I'm happy to have spring break next week. I'll have nothing to complain about for an entire 7 days. Do I foresee a good mood coming??

Sluggishness

My recent state of "no news" continues slowly, inching along through the desolate sleepiness that is my school year. I'm quite sick of greek myths. Those people just made up problems. It's very dreary these days causing many a-day of not knowing what to do with myself. Mom has also encountered this same predicament, as both of us sat around all day saturday trying to decide what to do with ourselves. We moved from room to room, sitting and talking. Then, in to the next room, for a change of scenery.

Even Dad has been bored lately which means terrible things for the rest of us. The boredom bopper has been swatting, flicking, tripping, smacking, stomping, and laughing maniacally inbetween odd jobs. He continues to find his own offensive remarks most amusing and is often found to be the only fan of his "humor".

Because it gives him great satisfaction, Lukas has been making me join him in watching episodes of Batman: The Animated Series. Awe Geez! Despite his intellect, you have to wonder. Usually I'll do something productive while it's playing in the background, though I think he's caught on, as I've begun to fail the pop quizzes he now gives me at the end of the episodes.

Jared is preparing for his last quarter at SCAD and has been calling us for location advice. He is planning a move to Charleston after graduation and is looking for an apartment. Oh think of the fun to come if Jibbles is around all the time!
Ellen just returned from a bachelorette weekend somewhere in Florida with a big, loud group of bridesmaids. She has a busy work week coming up which means I won't see much of her. I'm just happy she is home. I was the keeper of the cats while she was gone and boy, did they ever take over.

This....

....makes me really excited for summer time things.
I deeply apologize for the song. I had nothing to do with it.

Meet Milo

He's a stray-ish kitty! Apparently Milo has been living under the house next door for quite a while so a boy downstairs took him in. He fed him, loved him, and even got Milo a collar. Then the boy moved out and he LEFT MILO! How could you do that to such a loving creature?? So Ellen and I have taken it upon ourselves to feed and love on Milo.

While Ellen's cats were out the other day, I brought Milo in from the cold for a few hours for some kitty love time and warm blankets. I'm sure it was much needed by Milo who used to sleep in that boys warm bed! Milo is a very happy, low maintenance kitty that just wants to be rubbed! He runs up the driveway meowing when I get home and rubs on my legs, feet, the stairs, hurling his tiny body onto the ground and rolling and basking in the potential rubbing. He likes to talk and walks me to the end of the driveway in the mornings, where he sits and watches me get in my car and drive away. I kind of makes me sad.

Anyways he came in and investigated, gave himself a bath, and then took a two hour nap, inconveniently located right in my lap.

Soggy Things

It's been a cool couple of rainy days.

To entertain myself, I've been taking pictures of random plants in the backyard. Yes, I know. And now I'm forcing you to look at them.

Life is slow these days. It's an every man for himself situation in terms of entertainment. I haven't seen much of Ellen lately. She's usually holed up in her room listening to music that I care not to associate with. Mom is beginning to feel better (thank goodness) and is now on a self appointed mission to clean the house. "Really clean" she says.

I'm getting myself most excited about summer. Not my plans in particular but the idea that there will still be a good two hours of sunlight after dinner. I love that. Oh! And grass cutting. I want to cut the grass. The sun made a brief appearance for a little while late this afternoon.

I spent most of the day ignoring my school related responsibilities and therefore was forced to come inside once the sun came out as it was getting too late for me to study for my test on world peace. I'm having much difficulty paying attention. Peace is a wonderful thing and I recommend it highly but come on. War tactics? Dates? Yish!
