Later I made some sticky caramel sea salt brownies. One of my friends has been going on and on about these so I finally made them. They are tasty, though I think Mom and Dad prefer their brownies unsalted.
I'm salting all my desserts from now on!Wednesday, May 11, 2011
Mother's Day
Let's face it, everyday is Mother's Day, but on Sunday Dad and I played along. Dad went up to visit his own mother so I surprised Mom after church with a light little lunch on the porch.

Saturday
This saturday was a big one, though we didn't actually do much of anything. While Dad was off keeping busy, Mom and I went to the Farmers Market and Dog Show.
There were all kind of dogs. Big ones, small ones, hairy ones etc. We were surprised at how well behaved most of the dogs were, and we were glad we chose not to bring Buddy with us for fear of the havoc he would wreak. There was an abundance of people downtown for it was also the college's graduation day. All the girls were out in their ill-fitting white dresses and kicky heels. It was most entertaining as you could imagine.
Later on, Dad fixed us a delightful dinner that we ate out on the porch.
Promptly after dinner, we took ourselves, Buddy, and our painfully dry wine out on the dock with us. Piggly Wiggly was having a Wine Blowout sale all weekend and Dad was tickled to buy a few new bottles. He was excited about this "Australian white" and upon tasting it stated that we would "just have to suffer through it". It did however, start tasting better and better as the evening progressed.
Once on the dock, Dad had a cigar and promptly got into character.
Mom did not approve.
Mom tried to teach Dad to shag. Dad failed.
Meanwhile Buddy chased birds and pooped on the dock.
Dad took a BUNCH of pictures of Mom and I before she decided that my shirt was too low.
Dad began singing again. Awe Geez.
Buddy and I shared a moment.
And after the sun went down we went back inside. We rented an awful John Travolta movie (it wasn't Travolta's fault). Mom got up and went into the other room for she found the language offensive. I sat while Dad watched and did some online shopping!
What a long day.

Edisto
Our lovely trip to Edisto started out just right. Oh by the way, the traffic on 17 is so bad, you could not pay me to go down that road ever again!! Be glad you're missing it! Despite that, our trip started out just right.
We enjoyed the scenic ride...
And some things will never change.
We stopped at Kings market to pick up a nutritional dinner of white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and walnut brownies. Mmm! We did finally decide we should eat some real food and so we bought one of the best shrimp and crab casserole pie things that I have ever had. Despite it's grotesque appearance on the plate, it was delicious.
Upon our arrival, we noticed some Grandma additions to the decor. Can you spot the Grandma extras in the hutch cabinet?
Then we read a little, walked a little, danced a little, and found a jelly fish.
We had a relaxing evening with our yummy dinner. Mom and I started a puzzle and after an hour or two I threw my hand up in disgust and walked away. Mom stayed up until midnight working only to find that there were about 30 missing pieces.
We had a nice sunrise with coffee and music...
We had breakfast at The Sea Cow or "Cow-piles" as Grandaddy has begun calling it. Once we got back to the little house, it got dark.
And you know what? It rained!! We drove all the way home in a big rain storm. Awe geez! And we were stuck yet again in 17's awful traffic. Hmph!!
That concludes our Edisto day. We wish you could have joined us in the festivities!
P.s. How come y'all never told me about Vicars of the top 10?

I'm Finished!!!
I took my last exam yesterday and boy it was a doozie! I had more than one meltdown in my attempt to study for it. Anyways, it's over and I'm finished until July. Mom and I are headed down to Edisto for the day, just for fun. I'll be sure to take some pictures for you. In the mean time, here are some pictures I took in the yard with my snazzy new camera.

Buddy's Big Weekend
Ellen continues her bartending and rarely comes home. Hmph! Mom has decided to make jewelry out of Nana's worthless coins. Dad is so bored we caught him looking through a Bed Bath and Beyond catalogue. As you can see, there's not much going on here.
