My Oh My

First off, I am so excited that you are coming to visit Aunt Georgie. We all can't wait for you to get here!
I'll have to do some celebratory baking.

I'm still chugging along. I now have one extra day off per week though its getting cold out there in the fields. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle such a bitter cold winter. (Ha!) (...but really). About two weeks ago I attended Serefino's 70th birthday. Serefino is the grandpa to all the Mexicans at work and since my appearance, I've become "part of the family". Now I receive even more smiles and waves when they spot me in the veggie stand.
As for school, well I still hate it. My math class is kicking my butt and I got my first B on a french test in french test history. Hmph! T'was careless errors but still!! Oh! Oh! I found an especially exciting study abroad program in Greece. Paros to be exact. It's a photography and creative writing program that I would receive 6 credits for. A month in Greece? Sign me up!  I'm working on the paper work now, It all seems like it will work out but...well, you know.

I went for a walk after my math tutoring session (ha!). Here's what I found.

Also, I don't know if you remember Noodle. the ex-clown that worked with me at Cupcake, but I found him playing the ukelele in the Cistern with his wife and bass playing comrade.

In other news, Lukas is enjoying Wales and making all kinds of foreign friends. We still talk most nights, unless he falls asleep at an appropriate hour leaving me to fend for myself until my own bedtime. Last week I mailed him a big box of American snacks that he can't buy over there. He is most excited to receive it. I just hope it makes it over to him. I had to fill out customs papers for that thing!

And as for neighbor news, the guys next door have settled down since Ellen called the cops. Some guy with a baby moved in with Colin (the dude) so I imagine there is less noise on account of the baby. Also, Colin has gotten himself an adorable puppy named Baby (nobody puts baby in the corner) who is most energetic and puppy-like. She tries to break in to our apartment when we come and go and she's quite the little jumper. Imagine 3 people living in a two bedroom apartment with a puppy and a baby. Yish!

Fall Break

Hey! How's it going?
I am on "Fall Break" which means no class Monday or Tuesday. More like "Fall Tease". I have managed to get my room cleaned which has been on my to-do list for over a month now. But that's about it. I don't have class but I do still have work. I painted that pumpkin for the big tent just for kicks and now I've been sent home with a bundle of assorted gourds to paint. Today is my last farmers market (whoo hoo) but if it rains I just may not have to go.

There has been a shortage of pictures lately as I seem to have misplaced my camera charger and as the battery is quite low, I don't want to turn it on until I find it. I'm sure I'll find it. Right?

Anywho, more excitement to come...

Roommates

The three goons that I live with should all just run away together. Oh they are all just so in love with each other. It's gross. GROSS!!
Ben in particular loves Ellen so much that he follows her around and cries when she leaves. He looks at her when she is talking and responds to each and every of her beckoning calls. I, on the other hand, am merely the extra feeder for when Mom is away. He may glance in my direction if he is feeling generous but usually he only comes to me with his big green sock. This is how I know he is grieving the 6 hour shift Ellen works each day.

Love for Ellen:

Sass for me:

Sadie, unfortunately, loves the both of us. Her theory is simply to follow someone around long enough until they crack, and bend down to pet you. I find her most obnoxious. Despite the fact that she still races me to the bathroom, watches me shower, and slaps food out of my hand with her paw, she still expects me to pet her anytime my hands are full. I've begun shutting her out of my room. Not because I don't like her, but because I never know when she's going to erupt (if you know what I mean, Blehhh!!) When she finds she cannot enter my safe-haven, she meows and scratches at the door RELENTLESSLY. I cave every time. That cat has more stamina that those Kenyan long distance runners.

Free Time

I've managed to scrounge up a little free time lately. I had the weekend off for the first time since May (except for our trip to St. Thomas). Needless to say I was most exhilarated! I slept in, did a little shopping, ran some errands, and of course, wandered aimlessly.

I also met this little guy on my walk. Despite his severe expression, he purred the whole time I was around taking pictures. I think we're buddies by now.

All is well on the news front. Ellen continues her job at the Hotel and is getting to know the rich and fabulous. Mom's job search continues as Chuck-E-Cheese wanted someone with a little more experience in fine dining. Dad and I are chugging along with our projects. You know the drill.

As a fun fact. I woke to finding this chair in our driveway and for some reason, I found it most amusing.

Sunset and Sass

My sassy sister called the cops on our darling neighbors Saturday night.  Ellen came came home from work around 2:30 to hear loud music and arguments taking place next door. She calmly waited and waited. She had some cake. And she waited. Finally at 4:30 Ellen sent a patrol car over to pay a little visit to our noisy neighbors. I believe they got a citation for weed as well as the noise. I also believe Ellen slept soundly that night.

Earlier in the evening Grandma hosted her "Jordan and Ellen" birthday party, despite the fact that Ellen couldn't attend as she was working. Both Jordan and Alston were there which was quite the treat for Granny. I showed up a little later and enjoyed the catered meal by Bessingers. Jordan brought Jessica with him and also a present for Ellen. The present included a bowl that can't spill and a reaching stick for those heard to reach items on the top shelf of her closet.

And earlier than this, Saturday morning Buddy threw up all over the carpet in the playroom; extending from the washing machine all the way over to the computers. Scott Steamer came right over. Unfortunately, there was little he could do. We are now considering new carpet on account of the stain but more importantly, because of the intense reeking stench that has conquered the playroom.

In Dad news, things are going well as he is wrapping up projects and has gotten an offer on one of his newly completed renovations. He has sold the last piece of furniture in Bobs garage and Bob is more than pleased. Dad is more recently perturbed that someone has taken him up on an offer he made to build a house WAY up highway 17. I guess he didn't think they would take it.
As Dad works on, Mom's only hits on her job search is the head wrestling coach for the Charleston County School District or the assistant manager of Chuck-E-Cheese. I think we've got a match.

Now if you'll excuse me, I ditched class to write a paper. I'd better get something done.
